The short version: Your photo — your face — never leaves your iPhone. All face detection, measurement, and compliance checking happens on your device, using Apple's frameworks. IDHaven has no servers and no accounts. The only third party involved is the advertising provider that shows a short video before a free export; buying Pro removes ads entirely. This page explains exactly what that means.
IDHaven is made by Bravo Consulting Limited, a company registered in New Zealand ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@idhaven.app.
This policy explains how we handle personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and — where they apply to you — the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar laws.
IDHaven is a native iOS application. Everything it does with your photo happens on your iPhone:
The app makes no network request to us — we operate no server. You can put your iPhone in Airplane Mode and every core feature still works. We have no ability to see your photos, because there is no channel through which they could reach us.
The app has no accounts, no registration, no analytics SDK of ours, and no crash-reporting SDK of ours.
The free tier shows a short rewarded video before an export. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads and prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK collects certain information on Google's behalf: your device's advertising identifier (Device ID), advertising data such as which ads were shown, product interactions such as taps and video views, diagnostics such as crash and performance data, and your IP address — which Google may use to estimate a coarse location. This is the standard behaviour of mobile advertising and is governed by Google's privacy policy. These are exactly the data types declared on our App Store privacy label.
Three things we want to be precise about:
IDHaven Pro is a one-time In-App Purchase sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment under its own privacy policy and does not share your payment details, name, or address with us. We receive only anonymous transaction records that let the app verify your purchase on your device.
If you email us for help, we keep that correspondence so we can assist you and remember the context if you write again. Please don't send us your ID photos — we don't need them to help you, and we'd rather they stayed on your iPhone where they belong.
Our website (idhaven.app) is a static site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability; we do not use them to profile visitors. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers on our website.
We do not sell personal information. The only third parties involved are named above: Apple (purchases), Google AdMob (free-tier ads), and our website host. Each handles only what its function requires.
We may disclose information if the law requires it — for example, a valid legal demand. Since the app holds none of your photos and we operate no server, such a request could never produce your photos.
We are based in New Zealand. Apple and Google may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@idhaven.app. In practice the answer is usually short: outside any support emails you've sent us, we hold nothing about you. For data held by Google (advertising) or Apple (purchases), their privacy pages explain your controls; on-device, you can reset or disable your advertising identifier in iOS Settings.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy issue, you can complain to the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner, or to your local data protection authority.
IDHaven is a utility for preparing official documents and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. A parent photographing their child for the child's passport uses the app under the parent's control; the photo, as always, stays on the device.
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and for material changes we'll say so on our website. We won't make a change that retroactively reduces the protection of information we already hold.
