Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 August 2026

The short version: IDHaven checks your photo against official size rules and prepares it for you, entirely on your iPhone. Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription, ever. The app is a careful measuring tool, not a government: only the issuing authority can accept or reject a photo. Refunds for purchases go through Apple.

1. Who you're dealing with

IDHaven is developed and published by Bravo Consulting Limited, a company registered in New Zealand ("we", "us"). These terms form the agreement between you and us when you use IDHaven. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the app. Your purchase itself is made from Apple through the App Store, and Apple's standard licence terms apply alongside these.

2. Your licence

You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use IDHaven on iOS devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store terms. IDHaven Pro is a one-time purchase — it is not a subscription, it does not renew, and it unlocks its features permanently for your App Store account, including via Restore Purchases on your other devices.

You may not resell or redistribute the app, or reverse engineer it except to the extent law expressly permits. We keep all intellectual property rights in the app. You keep all rights to your photos — we never acquire any interest in them, and as described in our Privacy Policy, they never reach us at all.

3. What IDHaven does — and the one thing it can't promise

IDHaven measures your photo against published official specifications: head size, eye position, background, lighting, expression, and per-country digital requirements. Every specification in the app is sourced from the issuing government's own published rules, and we keep them under review.

Only the issuing authority decides whether a photo is accepted. Passport offices and consulates apply human judgment and additional criteria beyond published measurements. A photo that passes every check in IDHaven can still be rejected by an official — and officials sometimes accept photos that fail a technical measurement. IDHaven is a careful preparation tool, not a guarantee of acceptance, and we make no such guarantee.

Some countries impose requirements no app can verify or fulfil — for example, Canada requires photos taken by a commercial photographer with a stamped date on the back. Where we know of such rules, the app tells you.

Editing notice: some authorities, including the United States from 2026, reject photos that have been digitally altered, including background replacement. IDHaven's default mode for such documents keeps your original photo untouched and checks the real background instead. If you choose background replacement where it is offered, you do so at your own judgment for the destination country's rules.

4. Free tier and advertising

The free tier lets you use every check and export a watermarked photo after a short rewarded advertisement. Advertising is provided by a third party as described in the Privacy Policy. We may adjust what the free tier includes over time; a change never removes what a Pro purchase has already unlocked.

5. Purchases, prices, and refunds

IDHaven Pro is sold by Apple through the App Store In-App Purchase system. Apple is the merchant; prices are shown before you pay, in your local currency. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies — see our Refunds page for how to request one.

6. Your responsibilities

Check the finished photo before you submit it, and follow any instructions from the authority you're applying to. Print at actual size without cropping or "enhancement". You're responsible for the photos you take and submit, including having the right to photograph the person in them.

7. System requirements

IDHaven requires an iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Requirements are stated on the App Store listing.

8. Warranties and liability

We provide IDHaven with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" without further warranties.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the app or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for IDHaven Pro, or NZ$10 if you paid nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including application fees, travel costs, or delays arising from a rejected photo or application.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 gives you guarantees these terms do not exclude; consumers elsewhere keep their local rights likewise.

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop using IDHaven at any time by deleting it. We may terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms, and we'll tell you why. Sections that by their nature survive termination (intellectual property, liability, governing law) do survive.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future use — for instance if the law changes or we add a new offering. The current version always lives at this address with its date at the top. A change never takes away what a purchase you already made paid for.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
